A man was arrested outside of Taylor Swift’s New York City apartment after he crashed his car into her building and attempted to pull her intercom off the wall. Let’s get into all the terrifying details.
It’s no question that Taylor Swift’s many properties in the US and UK are a magnet for crazed so-called fans attempting to intrude, but a bizarre and extremely shocking incident that happened early Thursday morning was definitely a first. Tmz was the first to report that a man was arrested outside of her New York City Tribeca apartment after crashing his car into the building. Law enforcement sources explained to the outlet that just before the man was taken into custody, he had driven the wrong way down Taylor’s Street, reversed his car, and struck the building as well as a fire hydrant.
After getting out of his car, he proceeded to walk up to the intercom and attempted to rip it out of the wall while mumbling about Taylor until the wires were entirely ripped out of the unit. Sources revealed to the news outlet that a bystander called 911, and when NYPD arrived at the scene, the man was immediately taken into custody and taken to a nearby hospital, reportedly for psychiatric evaluation. Tmz reported that the NYPD identified the suspect as 31-year-old Morgan Mike, who was booked for driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.
Police observed a moderate odor of alcohol on his breast. Most importantly, it’s unclear whether Taylor was actually home at the time of the incident. However, with the number of security measures it takes to actually reach her front door, there’s a good chance she was completely unharmed. And thank goodness, as fans know, this isn’t the first time Taylor and her properties have been the target of trespassing in an attempt to get to her. Just last summer, another man by the name of Patrick Neeson was arrested for actually entering into the vestibule of the same New York City apartment that takes guests up to her penthouse just before police were called to the scene, as reported by TMZ. At that time, Taylor Thankfully wasn’t actually home as Neeson tried to enter the building and later revealed to the Manhattan Criminal Court just prior to leaving that he was doing what felt comfortable, adding that he loves Taylor, where sure, there are many other adoring fans who’d love to pay TSwift a quick visit on any given day, but there’s this thing called boundaries. Maybe you’ve heard of them. Or maybe that’ll be the name of the forthcoming TS Ten.
Just maybe a Swifty could only dream.
